Alford Daniel Eubanks

March 12, 1936 – February 20, 2022

 

    Alford Daniel Eubanks, 85, of Somerville, Texas passed away at home, in the arms of his loving wife on Sunday, February 20, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 5 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home. An urn internment will follow at a later date at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.    

    Born on March 12, 1936, in Jones County, Trenton, North Carolina, he was the son of Adell and Beatriss (Hartley) Eubanks. Alford was a hardworking and patriotic man who was proud of serving in the United States Army. Alford graduated from Arsenal Technical High school in 1954, starting his career in the printing business. He was drafted into the Army in 1960 and completed basic training in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He entered the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later got a hardship discharge in 1962 in Oakland, California. Al married Alice Marie York on December 10, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon retiring from the printing field, he moved to Somerville, Texas in 2018. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football games, fishing, traveling, and hunting.

     His parents, one son, and one brother precede him in death.

    Alford leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife of 33 years, Alice Marie (York) Eubanks; four sons; two daughters; one brother, two sisters; twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
