Richard Walter Scott
September 26, 1939 – June 5, 2019
Richard Walter Scott passed away June 5, 2019 at the age of 79. Mr. Scott was a kind-hearted gentle person. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and participated in recovery flights during the Viet Nam war. He was employed by and retired from Mustang Caterpillar in Houston, Texas. While at Mustang he worked on heavy equipment, sometimes on Texas Towers and nuclear submarines. He was Big Brother to a young boy for several years. Mr. Scott was a devout member of his church; he and his wife served as foster parents to a number of children at a Baptist Children’s Home.
Mr. Scott is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Seale Scott, his parents William Winfield Scott and Kathleen Mary O’Connell Scott and his brother James Randolph Scott.
He is survived by three sisters: Ellen Rogers of Florida, Linda Scott and Patricia McLemore of Corpus Christi; one brother: William Scott of College Station; and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
