       Rachel S. Costa, 89, of Grapevine, Texas passed away Monday, October 14, 2019. A graveside service is set for 10AM Thursday, October 17 in the Wheelock Cemetery. A visitation will be held in The Chapel of Trevino – Smith Funeral Home from 5-8PM on Wednesday, October 16.

       Born September 18, 1930 in Wheelock, Texas Rachel was the daughter of Jesus and Isabel (Ybarra) Sustaita. She was an excellent cook, loving mother and grandmother, avid gardener, and was very active in her church.

       She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 25 years, Sammy Costa; a son, Robert Ruiz; one grandson, Sammy Ruiz; one great-granddaughter, Dally Garza;four brothers; and three sisters.

       Rachel leaves behind to cherish her memories, two sons, Thomas Gene and Pete Anthony Ruiz; three daughters, Fancy and husband Antonio Carranza, Linda and husband Johnny Almendarez, and Veronica and husband Bernard Bernal; two sisters, Lupe Alvarado and Paulita Ayala; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
