Norma Faye Borne–Ashley

Norma Faye Borne-Ashley, 71, of Bryan passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019. Funeral Services are set for 11AM Wednesday, April 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Monsignor John McCaffrey will officiate and burial of cremains will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8PM Tuesday, April 23 with a 6PM Rosary in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.
Born October 17, 1947 in Port Arthur, Texas she was the daughter of Arsey and Ida May (Riley) Borne. Norma, an artist by nature, enjoyed arts and crafts, quilting, sewing, embroidery, pottery, and painting. She volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul and was involved with the Pink Alliance. She was devoted to her Church and, most of all, her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sr. Beth; first husband Paul Curda, and husband of 17 years George Ashley.
Norma leaves behind to cherish her memories, four sons (spouses), Anthony P. Curda (Rachel), Robert L. Curda (Claudia), Mark D. Curda (Stephanie), and Daniel G. Curda and stepdaughter Lisa Ashley; three sisters, Carolyn Martinez and husband Gene, Mary Carlisle and Kenneth, and Ida Primeaux and Danny; she also leaves nine loving grandchildren; Colten Brown, Kayli Curda, Jessica Curda, Emily Curda, Dalton Kelso, Jennifer Curda, Joshua Curda, Justo Curda, and Jordan Bisbee.
