Louise Cooley
March 26, 1934 – August 5, 2018
Louise Cooley, 84, of College Station, Texas and formerly of Newnan, Georgia and Santa Rosa Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. Graveside services are set for 10AM Friday, August 10th in the Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas.
Born March 26, 1934 in Doe Run, Georgia she was the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Motrova) Whitaker. After a long and distinguished career at Texas Instruments, she was an entrepreneur and was actively involved in the family business. Louise enjoyed crocheting, voting for George Bush every chance she got, sweets, rooting for the Houston Oilers and traveling in her younger years. In her much later years she hated to cook and let everyone know she might heat ya up a biscuit, but other than that you were on your own! Till her last days here on earth she loved reading anything and everything. She could be found reading the paper and drinking her coffee every morning.
She loved her church as well as her numerous animals, but she had a special love for her family. Although the young’uns sometimes had to pick their own switch, Louise was a loving and fun mother, grandmother and friend! She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 34 years Charles Cooley; daughter, Bethany Benn; two sons, Robert Shealy, and Ronald Faulk; two sisters; and one brother.
Louise leaves behind to cherish her memories and to laugh about how she would take her dogs through the McDonald’s drive-thru, four grandchildren, Joshua Benn and Melissa, Kristy Shealy and LeighAnn, Jesse Benn, and Daniel Shealy; a son-in-law, Bernhard “Benny” Benn and his wife Beverly; two daughters-in-law, Kriss Faulk, and Cynthia Shealy; she also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Joseph Benn, Noah Benn, Lauren Benn, Jaxon Shealy, and Maddox Wolfe.
The family would be appreciative and honored if memorials were made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
