Joel Alvarado, 47, of Bryan passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. Funeral Services are set for 11AM Friday, March 15 in the First Baptist Church in Hearne. Visitation will be from 4-7PM Thursday, March 14 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

Born November 11, 1971 in Bryan he was the son of Guadalupe and Ruth (Serna) Alvarado. Joel always had a smile on his face and had a way of giving advice in a joyful way. He loved to cook and host family and friends. He loved football especially the Cowboys and the Aggies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Joel Alvarado Jr.; a sister Sylvia Alvarado; a brother Guadalupe Alvarado Jr.; and compadre Gregg Duron.

Joel leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Marcella Alvarado; one son, Matthew Alvarado; four daughters, Sylvia Alvarado and Justin Ruiz, Valerie Alvarado Sanchez and Norberto, Maricela Alvarado, and Areceli Alvarado; seven brothers, Ascencion, Daniel, Frank, Juan, Adam, Richard, and Antonio Alvarado; five sisters, Rachael, Mary, Gloria, Lucy, and Christina; seven grandchildren, Abigial, Jace, Jazlynn, Avianna, Andrea, Norberto Jr., and Joel; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
